Project Description: When the American Shotcrete Association (ASA) enlisted Virtual as their client, I was entrusted with the comprehensive redesign and development of their website. The project involved a transition from Drupal to WordPress, incorporating a dynamic frontend resource library, a company directory, and seamless integration with WooCommerce for order management.

Key Achievements:

  1. Drupal to WordPress Migration: The ASA website required a complete overhaul, transitioning from Drupal to WordPress. I immersed myself in learning Drupal to efficiently transfer the necessary files and templates to WordPress, aligning with Virtual’s preferred Content Management System (CMS).
  2. Resource Library Development: The ASA had an extensive repository of resources, and I undertook the task of building a dynamic frontend library for users to search and filter through hundreds, if not thousands, of items. I utilized plugins such as FacetWP and Relavanssi for efficient indexing and user-friendly filtering.
  3. Dynamic Company Directory with Formidable: Implementing Formidable Forms, I created a dynamic view for builders to add their companies to the website. This directory empowered users to find builders in their respective areas, enhancing the overall user experience and community engagement.
  4. WooCommerce Integration for Order Management: Utilizing WooCommerce, I established a seamless connection with Formidable Forms. This integration allowed for the drafting of orders before finalization, providing a smooth and user-friendly process for both the ASA team and their clients.
  5. Client Satisfaction: The successful execution of the website overhaul, including the resource library, company directory, and WooCommerce integration, resulted in a highly satisfied client. The improved functionality and user experience met the specific needs of the ASA and aligned with their mission to advance the use of shotcrete.

Technological Approach:

  • WordPress Development: Leveraging WordPress as the CMS of choice at Virtual, I executed a seamless migration from Drupal and implemented robust features for the ASA website.
  • Plugin Integration: Employing plugins like FacetWP, Relavanssi, Formidable Forms, and WooCommerce, I tailored the website to meet the unique requirements of ASA, providing a dynamic and user-friendly platform.

Client Testimonial: The client expressed immense satisfaction with the website overhaul, praising the user-friendly resource library, the dynamic company directory, and the streamlined order management process. The successful collaboration between Virtual and ASA exemplifies my ability to deliver comprehensive solutions that align with the client’s vision and mission.
